  • Known hypersensitivity to the prescribed medication or formulation.

Relative contraindications

Use individualized risk-benefit assessment, added precautions, or a modified approach as authorized for the patient and setting.

  • Clinically significant tachyarrhythmia, severe hypokalemia, or another condition increasing beta-agonist risk requires intensified monitoring and prescriber review rather than automatic withholding during critical asthma.
