Contraindications
Review these conditions before proceeding and follow current orders, protocols, facility policy, and supervising-clinician direction.
- A blender with damage, failed inspection, failed alarm, or unavailable required gas source must not be used for patient care.
Relative contraindications
Use individualized risk-benefit assessment, added precautions, or a modified approach as authorized for the patient and setting.
- Pressure imbalance, long or restrictive hoses, incorrect fittings, or an incompatible flowmeter can produce inaccurate flow or oxygen concentration.
